Water Butterfly Valve – Reliable shut-off for drinking water pipelines
The AK210W water butterfly valve is specifically designed for use in drinking water pipelines. A Body made of ductile iron GGG40 with an epoxy resin coating, a Disc made of stainless steel 1.4408 (CF8M), and an EPDM sealing sleeve ensure hygienically flawless, tight shut-off. The wafer design allows installation between flanges to DIN PN6, PN10 and PN16 as well as ANSI 150 – with Face-to-face to DIN EN 558-1 Series 20.
Materials and seals for drinking water service
All media-wetted materials of the AK210W meet the requirements for drinking water hygiene. The EPDM seat ring is tested to DVGW, ACS, WRAS, KTW and W270. The stainless steel Disc (1.4408) offers high corrosion resistance, while the GGG40 Body with epoxy coating (120 µm, RAL 5015) additionally protects against external influences. Temperature range: −20°C to +95°C.
DVGW Butterfly Valve – Tested safety in accordance with the regulations
The DVGW butterfly valve type AK210W is certified by the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW). As part of a type test, it was confirmed that the Body, Disc, shaft and seal do not impair drinking water quality. The DVGW Certificate ensures that only tested materials and sealing elements are in contact with the medium.
Operation and Automation
Thanks to the standardized head flange to ISO 5211, the AK210W can be automated flexibly. Available actuation types:
- Hand lever (aluminum detent lever)
- Worm gearbox with handwheel
- Pneumatic actuator – double-acting or single-acting
- Electric rotary actuator – multivoltage 24V–230V AC/DC

Drinking Water Butterfly Valve – Areas of use and applications
The AK210W drinking water butterfly valve is suitable for use in municipal water supply networks, water treatment plants, building services engineering and industrial drinking water systems. Typical applications include shut-off, control and maintenance isolation in drinking water pipelines from DN25 to DN600.
