Stainless steel bellows-sealed valve for high temperatures and emissions-critical applications

The VG460 bellows-sealed valve is a robust stainless steel shut-off valve for industrial plants where high tightness, temperature resistance, and reliable stem sealing are required. The version with a metal bellows prevents the medium from escaping directly via the stem, making it particularly suitable for applications with stringent requirements for emissions tightness.

The bellows-sealed valve is designed in accordance with EN 13709 and features a flange connection to EN 1092-1, Form B1. The Face-to-face complies with EN 558-1, Series 1, enabling standards-compliant integration into industrial piping systems.

With a Body and bonnet made of 1.4408 stainless steel, disc and stem made of F316, and a stellite-faced valve seat, the VG460 is designed for reliable operation under demanding process conditions. The bellows made of SS316Ti and the body gasket made of SS316 + graphite meet the requirements of TA Luft in accordance with ISO 15848-1.

A Body made of stainless steel 1.4408 offers clear advantages over GGG40 (ductile iron) or cast steel, particularly under demanding process conditions. Stainless steel has significantly higher corrosion resistance and provides long-term protection for the valve against rust and corrosion-related material loss. This is especially important with steam, hot water, humid operating conditions, or chemically contaminated process media, as corrosion can not only impair the service life and functional reliability of the valve, but can also jeopardize the purity of the medium. The corrosion-resistant, durable surface of 1.4408 also makes cleaning easier and supports compliance with high hygiene and quality requirements.

For steam, hot water, and industrial process media

The VG460 bellows-sealed shut-off valve is suitable for numerous industrial piping systems. Typical areas of application include:

  • Steam lines and superheated steam systems
  • Heat transfer and heating systems
  • Process plants in the chemical industry
  • Petrochemical plants
  • Energy and power plant facilities
  • Plants with hot gases and process media
  • Industrial media supply
  • Piping systems with TA Luft-relevant requirements

The maximum operating temperature is 400 °C. The actual permissible pressure/temperature combination must be considered in accordance with the operating conditions and the valve’s technical design data.
