Flanged Globe Valve Type VG430 — Cast Steel Globe Valve for High-Temperature Service

The flanged globe valve type VG430 is a cast steel globe valve with bolted bonnet and outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) rising stem. Actuation is by handwheel. Body and bonnet consist of cast steel 1.0619. Disc and stem use 2Cr13, the seat 13Cr.

The gland packing consists of graphite and is TA-Luft compliant. In addition, the body gasket uses SS304 with graphite. The globe valve PN40 covers nominal sizes DN15 to DN300. It is available in pressure ratings PN10, PN16, PN25 and PN40.

The maximum operating temperature is 400 °C. Flange connections conform to EN 1092-1, type B1. Moreover, the face-to-face length follows EN 558-1 Series 1. The rising stem globe valve holds approvals to AD2000, NACE and PED 2014/68/EU. FERGO supplies the globe valve high temperature ex stock.

Technical Data and Connection of the Flanged Globe Valve

The flanged globe valve comes in fourteen nominal sizes. They range from DN15 to DN300. Pressure ratings cover PN10, PN16, PN25 and PN40. Flange connections conform to EN 1092-1, type B1. Furthermore, the face-to-face length follows EN 558-1 Series 1. The design follows EN 13709.

The maximum operating temperature is 400 °C. Therefore, the globe valve steam suits saturated and superheated steam applications. Bolting is ASTM A194 2H / ASTM A193 B7.

Materials and Approvals of the Cast Steel Globe Valve

Body and bonnet of the globe valve cast steel flanged consist of 1.0619. This heat-resistant cast steel suits high-temperature service. Disc and stem in 2Cr13, together with the 13Cr seat, ensure reliable shut-off. They also withstand thermal stress.

The graphite packing and SS304-with-graphite body gasket meet TA-Luft requirements. They are designed for low-emission sealing. In addition, the globe valve PN40 holds approvals to AD2000 for pressure equipment. It also meets NACE for sour service and PED 2014/68/EU.

Applications and Ordering of the Rising Stem Globe Valve

The flanged globe valve protects steam and condensate lines. It also protects thermal oil circuits, petrochemical process lines and power plant installations. The rising stem indicates disc position externally. This gives a safety advantage in high-temperature and high-pressure applications.
