Gas Flanged Ball Valve KH121 — DVGW-Approved Shut-Off Valve in Ductile Iron
The gas flanged ball valve KH121 is a DVGW-approved shut-off valve in a 2-piece body of ductile iron GGG40 (EN-GJS-400-15). This DVGW certified gas ball valve provides reliable full-bore shut-off for natural gas, biogas, town gas and non-corrosive gases in nominal sizes DN25 to DN150 at PN16. Approval to DIN EN 13774 confirms suitability for gas distribution networks and industrial gas installations. FERGO supplies the KH121 in three ball variants ex stock.
Technical Data and Ball Variants
The ductile iron gas ball valve KH121 covers nominal sizes DN25, DN32, DN40, DN50, DN65, DN80, DN100, DN125 and DN150 at pressure rating PN16. Face-to-face length conforms to EN 558-1 Series 14, flange connections to DIN PN16. The operating temperature range is –20 °C to +60 °C with a maximum working pressure of 16 bar.
Three ball variants are available: KH121-D2CTHF with a solid ball in cast iron GG25 for standard gas applications. KH121-D2STHF with a solid ball in stainless steel 1.4404 for increased corrosion resistance. KH121-D2S1THF with a hollow ball in stainless steel 1.4301 for reduced weight — this variant is not suitable for actuator mounting.
Materials and Sealing
The body of the gas shut-off ball valve is manufactured in ductile iron GGG40 — a proven material for gas distribution networks, industrial plants and municipal infrastructure. The PTFE seat seal provides gas-tight shut-off across the full temperature range. The stem seal is also PTFE, meeting the requirements for fugitive emission tightness to TA-Luft.
Approvals and Standards
The gas flanged ball valve KH121 holds DVGW approval to DIN EN 13774 for gas applications. TA-Luft conformity confirms tightness against fugitive emissions. The valve carries CE marking in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU. Actuator mounting flanges are designed to ISO 5211 for direct mounting of quarter-turn actuators.
Actuation and Ordering
The gas ball valve KH121 is supplied with a hand lever as standard. Automation with pneumatic actuators (single-acting or double-acting) or electric actuators is carried out in-house via the ISO 5211 mounting interface.
