Flanged Ball Valves: Quarter-Turn Shut-Off with Bolted Connections

A flanged ball valve isolates the flow by rotating a bored ball through 90 degrees inside the body. The flanged connection bolts the valve to the counter-flanges with a gasket in between. This means the valve can be removed and replaced without any cutting or welding. Consequently, the flanged design is standard wherever maintenance access, high pressures or large nominal sizes demand a secure bolted joint.

Fergo carries the KH155 and KH156 series in stainless steel 1.4408 and steel 1.0619, the KH120 in ductile iron GGG40, and the DVGW-approved KH121 for gas service. Nominal sizes range from DN15 to DN200, and pressure ratings span DIN PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN63, PN100 as well as ASME B16.5 Class 150. Face-to-face lengths follow EN 558-1 in series 1 (F1), 14 (F4), 15 (F5) and 27, while actuator flanges comply with ISO 5211. Additionally, versions with a duplex shaft in 1.4462 cover severe-service requirements at PN40.

Flanged ball valves serve chemical and petrochemical plants, power generation, oil and gas, water supply, food production and HVAC installations across Europe. Operators choose between a hand lever, a gearbox, a pneumatic actuator or a J4C electric actuator. For pipework that requires a screwed connection rather than flanges, the threaded ball valve range offers a compact alternative.

01 2-Way Flanged Ball Valves (KH155, KH120, KH121)

The 2-way flanged ball valves provide standard on/off isolation for liquids and gases. The KH155 is available in stainless steel 1.4408 or steel 1.0619 with a TFM1600 seat and covers DN15 to DN200 at PN16/40. The KH120 uses a ductile iron GGG40 body paired with a hollow stainless steel ball in 1.4301 for water, oil and gas duties. The KH121 additionally holds DVGW gas approval to DIN EN 13774. All three feature a two-piece body, full bore and blow-out-proof stem.

02 Compact Flanged Ball Valves (KH156)

The compact ball valve KH156 reduces the overall length to between 42 and 150 mm, depending on size. This design therefore fits tight pipe sections where a standard face-to-face length cannot be accommodated. Despite its shorter body, the KH156 retains a stainless steel 1.4408 housing, TFM1600 seat and full certification to TA-Luft, Fire Safe, ATEX and AD2000-A4. Sizes run from DN15 to DN150 at PN10/16/40.

03 3-Way Flanged Ball Valves

The 3-way flanged ball valves divert, mix or switch media streams between three ports. An L-bore directs flow between two paths, whereas a T-bore opens an additional through position for mixing or simultaneous distribution. These valves therefore suit bypass circuits, blending stations and changeover manifolds. Available with hand lever, pneumatic or electric actuation.
