Bellows Sealed Valve Stainless Steel Type VG460 — Hermetically Sealing Globe Valve for Highest Emission Requirements
The bellows sealed valve stainless steel type VG460 is a flanged globe valve with a metal bellows in SS316Ti. This bellows provides hermetic stem sealing. Actuation is by handwheel with rising stem. Body and bonnet consist of 1.4408. In addition, disc and stem use F316, and the seat is stellite-faced.
The SS316Ti bellows is certified to TA-Luft per ISO 15848-1. As a result, fugitive emissions at the stem passage are eliminated. The body gasket in SS316 with graphite meets the same TA-Luft requirements. The bellows sealed valve PN40 covers nominal sizes DN15 to DN300. It is available in pressure ratings PN10, PN16, PN25 and PN40.
The maximum operating temperature is 400 °C. Flange connections conform to EN 1092-1, type B1. Furthermore, the face-to-face length follows DIN EN 558 Series 1. In addition, the bellows seal globe valve holds approvals to AD2000, NACE and PED 2014/68/EU. FERGO supplies the bellows valve 1.4408 ex stock.
Technical Data and Connection of the Bellows Sealed Valve
The bellows sealed valve stainless steel comes in fourteen nominal sizes. They range from DN15 to DN300. Pressure ratings cover PN10, PN16, PN25 and PN40. Flange connections conform to EN 1092-1, type B1. Moreover, the face-to-face length follows DIN EN 558 Series 1. The design follows EN 13709.
The maximum operating temperature is 400 °C. Therefore, the stainless steel bellows valve high temperature suits saturated and superheated steam applications. This applies especially to systems with stringent leakage requirements. Bolting is ASTM A194 8M / ASTM A193 B8M.
Materials and Approvals of the Bellows Globe Valve
Body and bonnet consist of 1.4408. This austenitic cast stainless steel offers high resistance to acids, alkalis and chloride-bearing media. Disc and stem in F316, together with the stellite-faced seat, ensure wear-resistant shut-off. They also withstand thermal and chemical stress.
The SS316Ti bellows seals the stem passage hermetically. It is certified to TA-Luft per ISO 15848-1. The body gasket in SS316 with graphite meets the same emission requirements. In addition, the bellows sealed valve PN40 holds approvals to AD2000 for pressure equipment. It also meets NACE for sour service and PED 2014/68/EU.
Applications and Ordering of the Hermetic Globe Valve
The bellows sealed valve stainless steel protects chemical and petrochemical process lines. It also protects steam and heat transfer systems, pharmaceutical installations and pipelines carrying toxic media. Environmentally hazardous media likewise remain safely isolated. The hermetic stem seal provided by the metal bellows prevents fugitive emissions. This gives a decisive advantage in plants subject to strict environmental regulations. The stellite-faced seat extends service life under abrasive conditions. For custom solutions, project quantities or technical advice, the FERGO team is available.
