Fergo at a Glance: Butterfly Valves for Every Industry

Diverse application areas

Fergo butterfly valves are true all-rounders. Thanks to our extensive product range, our valves operate reliably in drinking water and wastewater pipelines, biogas plants, the recycling industry, shipbuilding, sewage treatment plants, and HVAC systems. They are equally suited for sensitive applications, such as in food and beverage production or in chemical and pharmaceutical processes. Hydrogen, energy production, oil and gas, mining, or special-purpose machinery— even in these areas, our butterfly valves are perfectly suited. For particularly demanding applications, our high-performance butterfly valves offer efficient and durable shut-off. With Fergo, you get tight-sealing, durable, and trouble-free butterfly valves, no matter what industry you are in.

A selection of materials for every application

We offer a wide range of materials for butterfly valves—ductile iron (GGG40), stainless steel, WCB, or even special materials depending on the requirement. This ensures needed resistance against moisture, salty sea air, aggressive pollutants, and fluctuating temperatures. For additional protection, our valves can be supplied with a C5 coating on request.

Seat/seal options for every medium

Depending on the medium and operating conditions, there are many different sealing materials to choose from. From soft-seated butterfly valves for various media to metal-seated butterfly valves for higher temperatures, our valves can be customized to suit virtually any requirement. Some of the media for which our butterfly valves are suitable:

  • Drinking water, wastewater, seawater
  • Gas, biogas, biodiesel, air, hydrogen (H₂)
  • Steam, bulk solids, oil & grease, food & beverage, fly ash, and abrasives.
  • Aggressive chemicals, acids, alkalis, esters, water, ketones, salt solutions

We have successfully supplied butterfly valves for operating temperatures ranging from -55 °C to +360 °C, which covers a lot of general industrial applications.

Wide range of sizes and pressure classes

From DN25 to DN1200 – our product range covers virtually all key pipe sizes. They comply with DIN PN standards (PN6 to PN25) and ASME/ANSI Class 150 and 300. For vacuum applications, the butterfly valves are also available with vulcanized seats, which enable them to withstand vacuum pressures of up to 1 mbar absolute.

Different types of connections for every pipe configuration

Our most common butterfly valves are centric wafer- and lug-type butterfly valves with threaded eyes. Wafer-type butterfly valves are mounted directly between two flanges, while flanged butterfly valves are equipped with threaded holes. We also offer double-flanged butterfly valves.

Certifications for the highest quality

Our butterfly valves are certified according to the latest industry standards. Our list of certifications includes DVGW drinking water & gas, TA-Luft, PED, AD2000, SIL, and ATEX. These certifications not only guarantee quality, but also offer assurance in a variety of applications – from drinking water to demanding industrial processes.

Actuation – Automated precision for every application

We offer a range of different actuator options for every application: pneumatic or electric actuators, depending on requirements. Pneumatic models are available as double-acting or single-acting ( normally open or normally closed) options. Our powerful pneumatic actuators feature a standardized NAMUR interface for solenoid valve connection and a VDI/VDE interface for straightforward installation of limit switch boxes and sensors. Similarly, the wide voltage range of our electric actuators, from 12 V to 400 V, supports various systems into which our flaps can be easily integrated.

Control & accessory solutions – precision in automation

Fergo offers a wide range of control accessories, including suitable mounting kits and extensions, which enable smooth installation and operation of butterfly valves. Solenoid valves are available for pneumatic systems for a diverse range of outdoor conditions and voltages. In addition, a wide selection of position indicators, limit switch boxes, and sensors enables efficient monitoring of the systems. Fergo butterfly valves can be equipped with positioners for the precise control of liquids and gases. All accessories are assembled and tested in-house, ensuring the highest quality standards.

Custom solutions – tailor-made for your system

System requirements are rarely static. From special materials, mounted accessories, to specific control requirements, we always have a solution in our program. At Fergo, we turn problems into solutions.
