3-Way Flange Ball Valve Stainless Steel – TA-Luft and ATEX for safe process diversion

The 3-way flange ball valve type KL112/KT112 is a stainless steel ball valve for
emission-critical and hazardous area applications. The body is made of
1.4408 (A351 CF8M), the ball seal is made of
TFM 1600 –
a modified PTFE with significantly lower cold flow tendency and better permanent sealing
than standard PTFE.

Fergo supplies the 3-way flange ball valve in two bore variants:

  • KL112 – 3-way with L-bore
  • KT112 – 3-way with T-bore

Key technical data for both versions:

  • Nominal sizes: DN15, DN20, DN25, DN32, DN40, DN50, DN65, DN80, DN100
  • Flange connection: PN40 (DN15–DN50), PN16 (from DN65)
  • Body and ball: Stainless steel 1.4408 (A351 CF8M)
  • Ball seat: TFM 1600 – Stem seal: PTFE
  • Full bore
  • Operating temperature: −29 °C to +175 °C

L-bore vs. T-bore – Diverting or mixing in flange connection

The ball design determines the function of the 3-way flange ball valve:

  • L-bore (KL112): Diverting the medium between two outlet paths.
Typical for bypass circuits, switching between process lines or filter switches
    during operation.
  • T-bore (KT112): Connects two or all three ports simultaneously.
Suitable for mixing two process media, distributing one inlet to two consumers,
or collecting functions from multiple sources.

Automation and certification

The mounting flange according to EN ISO 5211 allows direct assembly of
pneumatic
(double-acting or spring-return) or
electric actuators
(J4C 24V/230V/400V).

Certifications of the KL112/KT112:

  • TA-Luft design according to
    VDI 2440
    for low-emission process applications
  • ATEX: II 2G Ex h IIB T3 Gb / II 2D Ex h IIIC T180°C Db – approved for Ex zones 1/2 and 21/22

Special materials for higher operating pressures, higher temperatures or aggressive media are
available on request.
