3-way stainless steel ball valve – L- and T-bore for diverting and mixing
The 3-way ball valve type KL103/KT103 made of stainless steel 1.4408 (CF8M) is suitable for diverting,
mixing and distributing liquids and gases in industrial pipelines.
The three-way ball valve is available in two ball bore configurations:
- KL103 with L-bore – for diverting functions between two outlets
- KT103 with T-bore – for mixing and distribution functions with three active connections
Core technical data for both versions:
- Sizes: 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/4″, 1 1/2″, 2″, 2 1/2″
- Connection: female thread according to
ISO 7-1 (EN 10226-1) - Body and ball: 1.4408 (CF8M), shot-blasted
- Stem: AISI 316 – blow-out proof, with anti-static device
- Ball seal: PTFE + 15% glass fiber
- Operating temperature: −25 °C to +180 °C
- Max. operating pressure: 63 bar
L-bore vs. T-bore – which choice for which application?
The bore shape of the ball determines the function of the 3-way ball valve:
- L-bore (KL103): Diverting the medium from one inlet to one of two outlet paths. Typical for bypass circuits, filter backwashing, or alternating supply to two consumers.
- T-bore (KT103): Connection of two or all three ports. Ideal for mixing two media, distributing one inlet to two outlets, or for collection functions from multiple sources.
Both versions are manufactured with a reduced port, which allows for a compact design while
maintaining a high pressure range.
Order 3-way ball valve electric or pneumatic
The mounting flange according to ISO 5211 allows for the direct mounting of actuators. Fergo supplies the
KL103/KT103 completely automated upon request:
- 3-way electric ball valve with J4C part-turn actuator (24V, 230V, 400V AC/DC)
- 3-way pneumatic ball valve, double-acting or single-acting spring return (normally open / normally closed)
Optionally available with limit switch box, solenoid valve (Namur), positioner, stem extension
and mounting bracket – mounted, tested, and ready for installation on request.
