Bidirectional Knife Gate Valve in Cast Iron or Stainless Steel
The knife gate valve FB200 is a bi-directional sealing slurry gate valve for the shut-off of solids-laden, viscous and abrasive media in industrial piping systems. Unlike unidirectional designs, the FB200 seals reliably from both flow directions – a decisive advantage in systems where flow direction reverses or where the valve is exposed to pressure from both sides.
A sharp-edged stainless steel gate plate moves guillotine-style through the medium, cutting through fibres, slurries and granulates. The one-piece wafer body enables fast installation between standard PN10 flanges per EN 1092-1. All knife gate valves comply with the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and carry the CE marking.

Body and Gate Plate Materials
The cast iron knife gate valve GG25 is the most cost-effective option for wastewater treatment plants, pulp and paper, mining and power plants. The gate plate is SS304L (1.4306), the stem SS303 (1.4305). Optionally available in GGG40 for higher mechanical loads.
The stainless steel knife gate valve 1.4408 (CF8M) is designed for chemical process plants, food processing, pharmaceutical and aggressive suspensions. The gate plate is SS316L (1.4404) for superior corrosion resistance. For highly abrasive media in mining or cement, the gate plate is also available in Hardox.

Seat Materials and Packing Options
The bidirectional knife gate valve can be configured with seven seat materials to match specific operating conditions:
- EPDM: water, hot water, wastewater, alkalis (−20 °C to +120 °C)
- NBR: mineral oils, hydraulic fluids, greases (−20 °C to +90 °C)
- Viton (FKM): acids, hydrocarbons, higher temperatures
- Silicone: food and pharmaceutical applications
- PTFE: universal chemical resistance
- Flucast ABP: highly abrasive media, mining slurries
- Metal-to-metal: steam, fly ash, cement, temperatures to +400 °C
Packing options include PTFE, graphite, PTFE+NBR, PTFE+EPDM and PTFE+Viton – selected according to media and temperature requirements.
