In this type of valve, the valve disc is offset from the seat, so that when it rotates, it moves away from the seat rather than around it.

The double eccentric butterfly valve type AX131 is the absolute elite among high performance butterfly valves. The flanged butterfly valve, designed for high performance in critical applications, is available with WCB and stainless steel bodies. The high performance AX131 butterfly valve is available with seats made of materials such as RPTFE and INCONEL, which offer excellent resistance to chemicals and high temperatures.
