Brass Foot Valve – Backflow prevention and suction protection in one component
The RV105 type foot valve combines a spring-loaded check valve with a pre-installed
brass coarse filter. It is mounted at the beginning of the suction line and fulfills two tasks
simultaneously: the water column remains in the line after the pump is switched off, and
coarse impurities are kept away from the system.
The body, disc, and strainer are made of brass, while the seat is made of NBR. The connection is made
via internal threads according to
ISO 228/1
in the following sizes:
- 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/4″, 1 1/2″, 2″, 2 1/2″, 3″ and 4″
- Max. operating pressure: 10 bar (8 bar from 1 1/4″)
- Operating temperature: max. +90°C
The compact design with an integrated suction basket makes the brass foot valve a
practical solution for suction applications – without the need for an additional filter in the line.

The RV105 suction valve is suitable for numerous suction applications:
- Wells and cisterns
- Domestic waterworks and pressure boosting systems
- Garden and field irrigation
- Industrial pumping stations and suction lines
- Tank and rainwater harvesting systems
Vertical installation is recommended for reliable operation. The valve closes via
spring force and gravity, preventing the water column from dropping. There should be sufficient distance between the foot valve
and the bottom of the container to ensure that no air or
bottom sediment is sucked in.
