Metal Seated Gate Valve Type VA210 — Ductile Iron Valve with Metal-to-Metal Sealing
The metal seated gate valve type VA210 is a gate valve metal seat GGG40 with metal-to-metal sealing. It suits applications where elastomer-coated wedges reach their limits. Body and wedge consist of ductile iron EN-GJS-400-15 (GGG40). Moreover, the seat ring is available in stainless steel 1.4021 or bronze. The gland packing is graphite or PTFE with graphite.
This gate valve flanged metal seated covers nominal sizes DN40 to DN600. It is available in pressure ratings PN10 and PN16. Flange drilling conforms to EN 1092-2 PN10/16. Furthermore, the face-to-face length follows DIN EN 558-1 Series 14 (F4). Actuation is by handwheel with non-rising stem. This design is space-saving for installations with limited headroom. The metal seated gate valve is available in nominal sizes DN40 to DN600. Pressure ratings cover PN10 and PN16 at an operating pressure of 10–16 bar. Flange drilling conforms to EN 1092-2 PN10/16. In addition, the face-to-face length to DIN EN 558-1 Series 14 (F4) is the standardised short length. The non-rising stem reduces the space required above the valve. As a result, it enables installation in pits, ducts and confined locations. The gate valve PN16 ductile iron comes with handwheel or electric rotary actuator (AUMA, Bernard). The body is optionally available in EN-GJS-500-7 (GGG50).
Materials and Sealing of the Metal Seat Gate Valve
Body and wedge consist of ductile iron EN-GJS-400-15. This ductile material offers high mechanical strength. The seat ring is available in two variants: stainless steel 1.4021 for applications requiring elevated-temperature and corrosion resistance, or bronze for water and steam service. The metal-to-metal seal provides reliable shut-off even with abrasive or hot media. This applies especially where elastomer-coated wedges wear prematurely. The gland packing in graphite or PTFE with graphite ensures durable stem sealing.
