Stainless Steel Gate Valve Type VA450 — Metal-Seated Flanged Valve for High-Temperature Service
The stainless steel gate valve type VA450 is a flanged gate valve with metal-seated wedge. It suits high-temperature and corrosive service up to 450 °C. Body and wedge consist of 1.4408 (CF8M) austenitic stainless steel. In addition, the stem is F316 with outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) design. The seat in SS304 with graphite insert provides tight metal-to-metal shut-off. The gland packing is graphite to TA-Luft.
This gate valve 1.4408 CF8M covers nominal sizes DN40 to DN300. It is available in pressure ratings PN10 and PN16. Flange drilling conforms to EN 1092-1 Form B1. Furthermore, the face-to-face length follows DIN EN 558-1 Series 14 (F4). The design conforms to EN 1984.

Technical Data and Connection of the Stainless Steel Gate Valve
The stainless steel gate valve is available in nominal sizes DN40 to DN300. Pressure ratings cover PN10 and PN16 with a maximum operating pressure of 10–16 bar. Flange drilling conforms to EN 1092-1 Form B1. In addition, the face-to-face length to DIN EN 558-1 Series 14 (F4) is the standardised short length.
The maximum operating temperature is 450 °C. The gate valve PN16 metal seat is designed as a full-bore valve. As a result, it minimises pressure drop. Operation is by handwheel with outside screw and yoke. Bolting is ASTM A194 8M / ASTM A193 B8M.
Materials and Approvals of the Flanged Gate Valve
Body, bonnet and wedge consist of 1.4408 (CF8M). This austenitic cast stainless steel offers high corrosion resistance and elevated-temperature strength. The stem is F316. The seat in SS304 with graphite insert enables tight metal-to-metal shut-off at high temperatures.
The gland packing in graphite is tested to TA-Luft. It ensures fugitive-emission tightness to ISO 15848-1. Moreover, the gate valve TA-Luft meets the requirements of AD2000 for pressure equipment. It also complies with NACE MR0175 for sour-gas service and PED 2014/68/EU.
