Flanged Gate Valve PN40 Type 4B — Small Bore Valve for High-Pressure Pipelines

The flanged gate valve PN40 type 4B is a small bore gate valve. It features a full-bore design for small-diameter pipelines in process and plant engineering. Moreover, the valve is available in two material variants: cast steel P250GH / C22.8 (1.0460) with half-stellited 13% Cr internals, or stainless steel 1.4571.

This gate valve DN15 PN40 covers nominal sizes DN15 to DN50. It operates at a pressure rating of PN40. Flange drilling conforms to EN 1092-1 Form B1. Furthermore, the bolted bonnet construction with outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) ensures reliable operation by handwheel.

The gate valve TA-Luft PN40 holds approvals to AD2000-A4, PED 97/23/EC, NACE MR 01-75 and TA-Luft. In addition, FERGO supplies the flanged gate valve PN40 ex stock.

Technical Data and Connection of the Flanged Gate Valve

The flanged gate valve PN40 is available in nominal sizes DN15 to DN50. The pressure rating is PN40. Flange drilling conforms to EN 1092-1 Form B1. In addition, the full-bore design minimises pressure drop across the pipeline. Actuation is by handwheel with outside screw and yoke. As a result, the bolted bonnet allows straightforward maintenance access to the internals. The small bore gate valve flanged suits applications requiring compact, high-pressure shut-off in small nominal sizes.

Materials and Approvals of the Small Bore Gate Valve

The flanged gate valve PN40 comes in two material variants. The steel version uses a body in P250GH / C22.8 (1.0460) with half-stellited 13% Cr internals. It provides high wear resistance and elevated-temperature strength. The stainless steel version uses a body and internals in 1.4571. It is designed for corrosive media and clean-service applications.

Both variants hold approvals to AD2000-A4 for pressure equipment. Moreover, they meet NACE MR 01-75 for sour-gas service and TA-Luft for fugitive-emission tightness. PED conformity to 97/23/EC is confirmed.

Applications and Ordering of the High-Pressure Gate Valve

The flanged gate valve PN40 protects pipelines in the chemical industry, petrochemical plants, steam and condensate systems, pharmaceutical and food production, and general process engineering. The compact full-bore design suits bypass lines, drain connections, sampling points and branch lines.

NACE conformity enables deployment in sour-gas environments. In addition, TA-Luft approval ensures fugitive-emission tightness in environmentally sensitive areas. For custom solutions, project quantities or technical advice, the FERGO team is available.
