Cast Steel Gate Valve Type VA430 — Metal-Seated Valve for Process Media up to 400 °C
The cast steel gate valve type VA430 is a flanged gate valve in 1.0619 with a metal-sealing 13Cr seat. It suits process media at temperatures up to 400 °C. Body and bonnet consist of cast steel 1.0619. In addition, the wedge uses 1.0619 with 13Cr hard-facing. The gland packing is graphite, conforming to TA-Luft requirements.
This wedge gate valve cast steel covers nominal sizes DN40 to DN300. It is available in pressure ratings PN10 and PN16. Flange drilling conforms to EN 1092-1 Form B1. Furthermore, the face-to-face length follows DIN EN 558-1 Series 14 (F4). The bolted bonnet construction with outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) stem provides reliable actuation by handwheel. The gate valve TA-Luft 1.0619 holds approvals to AD2000, NACE MR0175 and PED 2014/68/EU. Finally, FERGO supplies the cast steel gate valve DN300 ex stock.
Technical Data and Connection of the Cast Steel Gate Valve
The cast steel gate valve is available in nominal sizes DN40 to DN300. Pressure ratings cover PN10 and PN16 at a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar. In addition, the maximum operating temperature is 400 °C. Flange drilling conforms to EN 1092-1 Form B1. Moreover, the face-to-face length to DIN EN 558-1 Series 14 (F4) is the standardised short length. The design to EN 1984 with full bore minimises pressure loss across the valve. The rising stem (OS&Y) with bolted bonnet provides visual position indication. As a result, it allows straightforward access to internals for maintenance. The gate valve PN16 cast steel comes with handwheel actuation.
Materials and Approvals of the Metal-Seated Gate Valve
The body consists of 1.0619. This heat-resistant cast steel suits elevated-temperature service and aggressive media. The wedge in 1.0619 with 13Cr hard-facing and the 13Cr seat ring form a metal-to-metal seal. This design ensures reliable shut-off up to 400 °C. The stem in X20Cr13 provides corrosion resistance. Moreover, the body gasket in SS304 with graphite is TA-Luft compliant. Bolting to ASTM A194 2H / ASTM A193 B7 is rated for high-temperature duty. Approvals include AD2000 for pressure equipment, NACE MR0175 for sour-gas service, PED 2014/68/EU and TA-Luft for fugitive-emission sealing.
Applications and Ordering of the High-Temperature Gate Valve
The cast steel gate valve protects pipelines in the chemical and petrochemical industry, power plants and oil and gas production. The metal-to-metal seal with 13Cr seat handles water, wastewater, steam, gases and aggressive liquids. It is rated for temperatures up to 400 °C. NACE approval enables deployment in environments containing hydrogen sulphide. In addition, the TA-Luft-compliant packing ensures tightness against fugitive emissions.
